Famous Architecture

The book includes 50 buildings photographed by Günther Förg in Moscow in Autumn 1995. Choosing from over 1,000 photographs – a few of which have already occasionally appeared individually at exhibitions – Günther Förg has put together a definite selection as an archive which was published in this book for the first time in its entirety. In addition to Konstantin Melnikov’s highly celebrated studio and its ground plan of a drum so often imitated in modern architecture, the book also includes photographs of extraordinary Constructivist and avant-garde architectural experiments from the twenties and early thirties of the 20th century.
